The Democratic Legislators have vacated their posts and moved to another state, there is no question that the governor is well within his rights to call an election. God speed Wisconsin!

    The governor has the authority to call an election to fill a vacancy. But he doesn’t have the authority to declare a vacancy. Members can be expelled by the other members of their respective houses, resign from office, be recalled from office by constituents, or be convicted of a felony. Those are the only instances of which I know that automatically create a vacancy.

      Of course, on the other hand, Wisconsin residents have the opportunity to recall their governor. Impeachment for abuse of power is also an option ….

    If the guttless elected officials won’t do their jobs, definately replace them.

    This needs to be done across the country as Reagan did with the Air Traffic Controlers. The unions have become too powerful and too politically connected, and need to be brought down. They are costing the tax payers BIG TIME.
