A lot has transpired since our last update.

1) Michael’s case has been fully briefed with the Army Court of Appeals and we are waiting patiently for an argument date to be set by the court.  We are hopeful it will be before the end of the year.

2) Michael has another Clemency Hearing coming up – most likely in December (yes it has been a year since the Clemency Board reduced Michael’s sentence to fifteen years.)  Once we know the date of Michael’s Clemency Hearing we will send out another update asking people to write letters to the Clemency Board.

3) The Leavenworth 10 Rally over Labor Day Weekend was more successful than we could have ever imagined. We knew our  target date was short notice, but it came together thanks to a lot of hard work from countless volunteers. I especially want to express my heartfelt thanks for the generous donations from UECUS Inc and the Seals Warrior Fund as well as the hundreds of individuals who gave.  Your support helped pay for a tremendous event that built exposure for these 10 men who have been charged for protecting themselves or their men in a war zone.  Soon on the L10 web site www.L10freedomride.com we will be including all the Rally photographs and videos available for you to watch.  In the meantime the web sites below have many videos to review:

Yes, you crotchety old men and haggard old women with umpteenth face lifts in Washington, DC, you sat on your hands and did nothing for America and Americans on your watches. Scott Brown, Chris Christie and Bob McDonnell was the first volley… and this November the first full frontal action will occur at the voting booths. Patriots are cleaning the House and the Senate! You didn’t want to listen to “We the People” so you will get kicked to the curb. Oh.. and that private practice, business, or whatever you own will be boycotted. You are the pariah upon the United States of America. Turnabout is only fair, you tried like hell to decimate us! Can you hear us now?

This project was for Worker Health and Safety Training Cooperative Agreement? It is described as:

Award Description: To integrate the Project’s hazardous materials emergency training from its Parent Grant into existing workforce development training programs for healthcare. This will be accomplished through collaboration with the Healthcare Career Advancement Program (H-CAP), a decade-long partnership of SEIU Local Unions and healthcare employers. The Supplemental Project will use existing classes and class materials from the Parent Grant. The Project will access the target population through the unique conduit provided to SEIU ESF by the national network of local unions of the Service Employees International Union. It will build on its existing and strong relationship with one consortium partner from the Parent Grant, the SEIU1199 Training Fund in New York while expanding into new geographic areas for training healthcare workers through the H-CAP. The second aim of this proposal is to accelerate the purchase of replacement equipment and supplies needed to prepare for an anticipated demand for the Project?s hazardous materials emergency training for state departments of transportation and facilities for highway maintenance crews that clean and maintain roads, highways, shoulders, bridges and roadsides and maintain vehicles and for waste water treatment and distribution workers. The four states (Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire and New York) in which the Parent Program provides training have been allocated more than one billion dollars for transportation and water-related construction projects funded under the ARRA and are expected to create at least 10,000 new construction jobs.  Over the 13 month period of this Supplemental, the Project proposes to hire one full-time and one half-time staff, to train 932 healthcare workers and 160 state highway and water workers and add an additional 12 worker-trainers to our existing network under the Parent Grant. The Project will operate as a consortium, led by the SEIU ESF.
