Was the FBI Formed as a ‘Progressive’ Arm of the Presidency?

The nut didn’t fall from the tree within Napoleon Bonaparte’s lineage~

Charles J. Bonaparte, Attorney General during the Presidency of Theodore Roosevelt, founded via special agents in 1908 what would later make a transformation into the FBI. Bonaparte was the grand nephew of Napoleon Bonaparte.

From the History of the FBI

“…Roosevelt and Bonaparte both were “Progressives.” They shared the conviction that efficiency and expertise, not political connections, should determine who could best serve in government…”

After reviewing the history of the FBI, it would appear that it was formed as a ‘Progressive‘ Arm of the Presidency.

… Does it still operate with that same Progressive mentality?

Obviously, since Terror Suspects Arrested in Midtown for Synagogue Plot appears to be below the FBI’s pay grade or interest.
