Some things that just make one go… hmm?
Everyone has been so diligent reporting on Mitt Romney’s father’s beginnings, what about his mother – Lenore Emily (nee LaFount) Romney?
Grandfather: Harold Arundel LaFount who was born in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England 1880
Grandmother: Alma Luella Robison who was born in Montpelier, Idaho 1882 (Idaho wasn’t a state until 1890)
Married October 20, 1903 in Logan, Utah
Side note: George Romney – Lenore’s husband, Mitt’s Father, and son-in-law to Harold LaFount spent two years as a Mormon missionary in England and Scotland in 1926.
Questions to Ponder:
How did Harold Arundel LaFount arrive into the United States and when?
Did Harold ever renounce his citizenship and become a U.S. citizen?
When and where did Harold become a Mormon?
If Harold never changed his status did he confer British citizenship to Lenore, Mitt’s mom, at birth? If so, did she renounce that citizenship? If not, is Mitt Romney subject to the crown? If so, plainly on one side of his family tree he would not be a ‘natural born Citizen‘ as required by the U.S. Constitution Article II Section 1.
Required documentation to vet Mitt Romney:
His maternal grandfather’s immigration records and/or Naturalization records.
How does his maternal grandmother’s birth in Idaho prior to statehood figure into the equation?
Gee, Ya Think?
