Good Bye Arkansas

I’m on my way to the Great Northwest. Beginning tomorrow, you can find me here at EYES IN THE NORTHWEST. I love a challenge so watch out Libs, I’ll be watching you! I imagine bountiful blog entries to come.

And a final note to Senator Mark Pryor, I won’t forget to write about you if /when you attempt a re-election bid. I have gathered a lot of material and it won’t be at all flattering!

Iwo Jima 1945 – original footage

Uploaded by on Oct 1, 2010

The Battle of Iwo Jima (February 19 — March 26, 1945), or Operation Detachment, was a battle in which the United States fought for and captured Iwo Jima from Japan. The U.S. invasion was charged with the mission of capturing the two airfields on Iwo Jima. The battle produced some of the fiercest fighting in the Pacific Campaign of World War II.

The Japanese positions on the island were heavily fortified, with vast bunkers, hidden artillery, and 18 km (11 mi) of underground tunnels. The Americans were covered by extensive naval and air support, capable of putting an enormous amount of firepower onto the Japanese positions. The battle was the first American attack on the Japanese Home Islands, and the Imperial soldiers defended their positions tenaciously. Of the more than 18,000 Japanese soldiers present at the beginning of the battle, only 216 were taken prisoner. The rest were killed or were missing and assumed dead. Despite heavy fighting and casualties on both sides, Japanese defeat was assured from the start. The Americans possessed an overwhelming superiority in arms and numbers—this, coupled with the impossibility of Japanese retreat or reinforcement, ensured that there was no plausible scenario in which the United States could have lost the battle.

The battle was immortalized by Joe Rosenthal’s photograph of the raising of the U.S. flag on top of the 166 m (545 ft) Mount Suribachi by five Marines and one Navy Corpsman. The photograph records the second flag-raising on the mountain, which took place on the fifth day of the 35-day battle. The picture became the iconic image of the battle and has been heavily reproduced.

Iwo Jima was also the only U.S. Marine battle where the American casualties exceeded the Japanese, although Japanese combat deaths numbered three times that of Americans.

The Silver Lining for the Next President of the USA

He will never have to utter the words “It’s Obama’s Fault” because the entire population of the United States and the World already knows this as an undisputed fact. The next President will have the greatest leeway to fix the many broken aspects of this country and the world due directly to the devious deeds of the megalomaniac usurper. May Obama be arrested in January of 2013, handcuffed, and left to rot in a jail cell until he and his conspirators are executed for high crimes upon this republic. Also seize their assets and put it towards the national debt as the money they have squandered was obtained through deception.

Just Have To Go There! Lizzy – Massachusetts?

I have been watching for MANY weeks Elizabeth Warren’s ‘feign dance’… Hey Lizzy why don’t you just submit yourself for a DNA test? I reckon it will be back in no time and could settle every question PDQ… NO… hmm? Lizzy Borden had a better defense!

The greatest mark in character is to take pride in one’s own skin… I believe Senator Scott Brown never had anything to hide as I remember a certain modeling photograph.

Now then, why would Elizabeth Warren be ashamed of being what she is and create another class for herself? Was it that she just wasn’t bright enough to achieve a goal without being on the taxpayer dole or that she wasn’t capable of mastering subjects without a free enabling pass back in the day! Talk about playing the ‘race card’!

Comics Have Gone From Ashcan Editions to Trash Can Editions

I don’t have a problem with anyone doing their own thing in the privacy of their own home or bathhouse… but don’t bring it into mine no matter how ‘innocently’ it’s attempted…

Case in point:  DC Comics AND Marvel Superheroes Come Out of the Closet

Why does sexuality now need to be a key component of comic books? Don’t superheroes have enough villains to battle? What’s next? Will superheroes spout religious teachings and associations? The only REVELATION this tawdry turn proves is that comic producers have, at this time in history, weak story writers and a lack of any creative staff.

But DC Comics obviously doesn’t want any input
