Eyes In The Northwest


Brought a bit of Southern living, from Arkansas, up to Washington State this year as I am currently cooking a pot of Black-Eyed Peas. It’s nothing new, though, as I did the same thing over a decade ago, living over in the Puget Sound, after arriving from Arizona.

I do get around!

But my recipe for the celebrated New Year’s Day meal has a bit of a modern spin.Buckeye ingenuity, mixes multiple beans with a great stock and ham, slow cooking all day. A fresh salad will take the place of my greens this year and a nice hunk of cornbread on the side will spout ‘Got ‘er done’!

God knows we need every bit of luck these days enduring the thumb/boot of the USURPER!
