The whole of America was never financially obligated to George the III. The Declaration of Independence was a reiteration of previously held conversations between England and the USA. It was provided as a courtesy and matter of record to proffer the status created by the many hardy peoples that had arrived to the North America shores long prior.

The Native Americans were here. There was no allegiance to England.

In 1564 René Goulaine de Laudonnière founded Fort Caroline in Florida for the Huguenot (French) Protestant refugees’ relief from religious persecution. There was no allegiance to England.

In 1607 Jamestown, a settlement in the Colony of Virginia, became the first permanent English settlement in the Americas.

In 1620 The Pilgrims arrived at Plymouth Rock, Massachusetts. They traveled so as to leave the Church of England so there was no allegiance to England.
